Why AI-drafted SOAP notes should always start in draft status
In CliniqFlow, SOAP notes prepared from intake start as drafts and stay editable until a licensed clinician approves them. Nothing auto-publishes to a chart. That rule protects patients and is what makes practitioners trust the drafts.
AI can prepare a useful first draft of a clinical note. It should never be the last word.
The rule
Every SOAP note CliniqFlow prepares from intake begins in draft status. The practitioner reviews it in patient context, edits what needs editing and approves it. Until then, it isn't documentation.
Why this matters
- Intake answers can be incomplete or misunderstood.
- AI can phrase uncertainty as fact.
- The clinician is legally and ethically responsible for the record.
Showing the gaps
A good draft shows where evidence is thin or data is missing, so review is focused instead of line-by-line rereading.
The result
Practitioners spend their time judging and correcting, not typing. And because the draft never pretends to be final, they trust it enough to use it.
